BUILDING COMMISSIONING
We are all familiar with the benefits of a properly tuned car—better gas mileage, lower emissions, and improved performance. Buildings are no different. Poorly installed or aging mechanical systems result in increased energy use, higher greenhouse gas emissions, and inflated operational costs. NRG Engineering has experience commissioning over 50 LEED projects. We also have expertise in the commissioning requirements of Title 24 Energy code.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE MODELING
As clients target energy conservation to improve their carbon footprint and reduce operational costs, energy modeling is an increasingly important part of an integrated design process. Energy modeling uses computer-based tools to simulate the energy use of a design, assisting to optimize design decisions and prioritize strategies that will have the greatest impact on a building's energy use.

TITLE 24 ENERGY CODE COMPLIANCE
Compliance with Title 24 is mandatory for all new construction and major renovations in California. This is accomplished by meeting energy efficiency standards that vary depending on the building’s location, type, and size. To achieve compliance, several approaches can be used, including prescriptive, performance-based, and energy modeling methods.

MEASUREMENT + VERIFICATION
We work with designers to create a measurement and verification plans to determine where and how energy is being used. We oversee the installation of the metering systems, monitor energy usage, and work with the building operators to maximize energy efficiency.
